GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Students – All overdue library materials must be returned, and fines fully paid, by TODAY. Any student with fees, lost, or outstanding books will no longer be able to borrow any circulating materials from the ILC until the issue is resolved. Please make sure to clear your library account, by the new year, to prevent borrowing restrictions.

You may check for overdues on your account, in school or from home, by following the instructions below:

  • Login to your personal account using the LOGIN link on the upper right side of the page.

Seniors with Parking Permit: The end of the 3rd Marking Period is Thursday, January 12. Check your parking permit to avoid consequences for parking when you are not permitted.          The marking periods you are NOT allowed to drive have the numbers punched out on the sticker.  Please note, Port Clinton is also a Senior parking lot. Seniors/Juniors are not allowed to drive/park on campus until 3:25 on school days unless they have a valid parking permit or have purchased a one-day parking permit from the 2400 office.

Interested in becoming a PE Leader? Fill out your application today, available online or in room 2108! Applications are due January 6, 2012. Applicants will be selected during the week of January 9, & will be posted at the West Physical Welfare Office.

 

 

Alternative P.E. Leadership applications are due January 6, right before finals.  Any student interested in a leadership position where they would be asked to lead small groups of students, work 1 on 1 with students, and be a role model in physical education classes, should apply.  Accepted leaders would be working with students who have physical, cognitive, social and emotional disabilities or students who have injuries.

 

 

SHS Kiva Club is selling tickets for S-Factor, a singing competition/fundraiser, all week for $5.    S-Factor is on Friday, January 6, from 6:30-9pm in the West Auditorium.

Students thinking about taking a class at the LCHS Technology Campus in the fall are required to visit the Grayslake campus before registering for classes. If you are interested in participating in the visit scheduled for Thursday, December 15 (during periods 3-5), please visit Mrs. Candotti in the Applied Arts office (rm. 1408) for a permission slip.

SHOWCASE 2012 MANDATORY MEETING!  If you signed up to audition for Showcase 2012 as a variety act, band, or Emcee, someone from your act MUST be present at our Showcase Informational Meeting this Thursday, December 8, at 9am in the Recital Hall (Late Arrival morning).  We will discuss important details about the upcoming show. Acts not represented will not be able to audition. Please help us spread the word!

Showcase 2012 – REMINDER: There is a MANDATORY meeting on Thursday, December 8, at 9am in the Recital Hall. (Thursday is a Late Arrival day.) ONE representative from each act must attend. If the “main contact” for your group is not available, be sure to send a sub. Attendance will be taken. Important information will be distributed.  Groups not represented at this meeting cannot audition. Please help spread the word!

Juniors – Interested in a 5-Week Fellowship to Israel? The Bronfman Youth Fellowship has announced its 26th summer in Israel (July 3-August 8). You will encounter the land and the people of Israel, study major issues in Jewish life, and meet some of Israel’s most influential figures. Application, and more information, can be obtained at http://www.bronfman.org and the application deadline is January 20, 2012.

 

 

CLASS/CLUB

 

Sophomore Class Board – Please join us as we make decorations for Winterfest.  We will meet after school on Wednesday and Thursday in room 2122.  Class Board is a great way to make new friends, have fun, and earn community service hours.  New members always welcome.  If you have questions, please see Mrs. Smith in room 2414.

The IM Ski and Snowboard Club Parent’s meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 7, at 7 pm in the West Auditorium (2206).  Membership packets will be available.

 

Key Club’s next general meeting is today from 3:30 – 4:30 in room 7036.  Come hear about our tutoring program, sign up for events and have a snack with friends.  New members are always welcome.

Want to know what’s new in Contemporary Drama?  Be one of the first to see and hear this Wednesday and Thursday, December 7 & 8, as the Contemporary Drama students present three original pieces, WHAT’S ON OUR MINDS AND UP OUR SLEEVES, written and performed by the Contemporary Drama students.  The show is at 7pm in the Studio Theatre, room 2204 and admission is free!!!

 

 

The French Club will be meeting in the Food Labs on Wednesday, December 7, after school to bake pastries. Come and join us!  No need to speak French to join the French Club!
